People Dr. Marijon Kayßer

For more than twenty years, Dr. Marijon Kayßer has been advising, representing and defending companies, public corporations and private individuals in all matters of complex white-collar cases.

Her areas of practice include the classic areas of criminal law such as embezzlement, fraud, anti- corruption laws, insolvency offences and further areas of criminal law, such as tax fraud, accounting/capital market regulations, antitrust law, foreign trade laws, or IP and data protection infringements. She has developed (criminal) compliance programmes and trained staff for numerous German and international companies. Dr. Kayßer has gained experience in a broad range of industries in corporate counselling, especially for so-called medium-sized businesses, also in conducting internal investigations and in the investigation of criminal acts directed against the company. In advising companies having suffered damage, she has in-depth expertise in dealing with investigative and regulatory authorities. Dr Kayßer has significant experience and extensive expertise in witness assistance and preparation, including and for decades assisting witnesses before investigative committees at federal and state - and international - levels, in Europe as well as in the USA.

Before entering private practice, Dr. Kayßer worked at the Institute of Criminal Sciences at the University of Frankfurt am Main with the Vice President of the Federal Constitutional Court, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Winfried Hassemer for seven years. She received her doctorate there in 1996 with a thesis on criminal law theory, for which she was awarded a prestigious state prize. After more than ten years in a major international law firm in the area of Corporate Criminal Investigations, she founded Klinkert Rechtsanwälte in 2010 with civil litigators. In 2023 the law firm Kayßer Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB, which specializes in white-collar cases, was founded.

Dr. Kayßer is a member of the Criminal Law Committee of the Frankfurt Bar Association and has been a member of the board of the Deutsche Strafverteidiger e.V. for many years, as well as a member of the Ethics Committee of the Department of Medicine at the University of Frankfurt am Main. She has regularly published and lectured on criminal law issues.

Dr. Kayßer is recommended by prestigious market surveys (Juve, Legal 500, Handelsblatt, WirtschaftsWoche etc.) for criminal law.
